The Sydney Opera House run a dedicated children’s program, ‘Kids at the House’, with plenty of great kid-friendly performances on offer, especially during school holidays.

These holidays, enjoy the live performance Mr Stink based on David Walliams’ award-winning best-seller. This popular kids book comes to life on stage, in this world premiere Australian adaptation at the iconic Sydney Opera House.

  • Talk to the animals at Taronga Zoo

With arguably Sydney’s best view of the CBD skyline, Sydney Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge – there is always plenty happening at Taronga Zoo, with over 4,000 animals to see, keeper talks and live shows throughout the day. Our top tip, make sure you check out the daily Free-flight Bird Show and Seal Show.

The older kids may like to test their skills on the Wild Ropes sky-high adventure course, through Taronga Zoo’s bushland. For kids 8+ and over 140 cm tall.

For free entertainment ideas, then look no further than Coogee itself. Take the kids for a swim before the weather gets wintery, choosing from the plethora of options – there is the golden sands and calm, protected waters of Coogee Beach, or try the magnificent Wylies Baths ocean tidal pools.

The Bondi to Coogee Coastal Walk is a spectacular 6-kilometre walk, traversing the dramatic Eastern Suburbs coastline. While in Bondi, make sure you stop for a sweet treat atMessina Gelato – voted best gelato in Australia (61 Hall Street), and work it off as you meander home and soak in the spectacular scenery.
