Sculpture by the Sea

Sculpture by the Sea is a popular free outdoor art exhibition displayed along the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk.

Sculpture by the Sea started as a one-day exhibition in 1977 on a shoestring budget with 25,000 people coming to the exhibition. Today it has evolved to be a 2 week art show displaying over 100 sculptures by artists from Australia and across the world and attracting over 400,000 local and international visitors.

Sculpture by the Sea is staged along the Bondi to Tamarama coastal walk which is transformed into a giant outdoor gallery. The art display is accessible from the Crowne Plaza Coogee Beach hotel via the Bondi to Coogee coastal walk or only a few minutes away by public transport, car or taxi.

The coastal walk begins at the bottom of Notts Avenue, which runs off Campbell Parade, Bondi. The coastal walk can also be accessed by stairs at various points along the exhibition route at Hunter Park, Gaerloch Avenue and Pacific Avenue. The exhibition finishes at Tamarama Park, Marine Drive, Tamarama.
